What’s Good family??
about a year ago I started writing for Say-Somethin’ Blog and its been a while since I’ve posted anything. Sorry for the disappearance! I had a lot of personal business I had to attend to.
But now I’m Back! I’ll be reviewing new music, posting about anything Hip Hop and answering questions you guys have! Thanks for the support and keep reading Say-Somethin’ Blog
So what’s been up? There is so much i want to discuss with you guys about what’s been going on with Hip Hop in the past year, too much to seperate into 100 different posts.. but if there is anything that ya’ll want to speak on, feel free to comment and we can talk about it!
I know recently a big topic on my mind has been 50 cent’s Indy birth. 50 recently left Interscope and is releasing music in a timely fashion like he used to. Fif has always been motivated to make music and apparently Interscope was keeping him from releasing it how he wanted to. I say good for him, Me personally, I’m a huge 50 cent fan. So anything that allows him to get back in the studio, i’m all for it. His singles are actually really cool, the videos are fly too. “Hold On” and “Don’t Worry About It” (ft. Yo Gotti) remind me a lot of the “The Massacre” style 50. Not street enough to be in the same category as his infamous “Get Rich or Die Tryin’”, but not too far out of the streets to be considered as another “Curtis” album. Hopefully 50 really brings out that “shoot em up, rob em” type music with “Animal Ambition”, THATS the Curtis I want to hear.
Anyways, I won’t drag this on too much, not really considered “exclusive” news I guess but best believe in the next few weeks i’ll be updating the site with everything 50! Welcome back Fif!

As you all know, I just started writing for Say Somethin’ blog today.. I setup an email for artists to submit music to for review. As you read in my last post, I’m very serious about music.. It takes a special kind of talent to really impress me. No, I WON’T review and post all of the music that hits the inbox, however I will listen to all of it. First Time I listened to MeRCY, I instantly felt like i just heard a new Wu-tang member being introduced to the game. His sound is so raw, and lyrical. He’s obviously been heavily influenced and taught well by the guys who knew what they were doing. MeRCY is an artist out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has a project, “Predlud3″, which is put together so well that I put it in my personal iTunes library. “Prelud3” features verses from some of hip hop’s underground favorites such as Ali Vegas , Skyzoo, Planet Asia and Tristate. This is just the ‘prelude’ to fulfilling a prestigious trilogy. The Prestige 3 coming soon, According to MeRCY.
I had a chance to talk to MeRCY for a bit and get to know him a little. He’s a real cool dude, really focused on his grind. Go follow his Twitter, (@MusicByMeRCY) and tell him Ace sent you! Also, Go here —> http://mercymuzic.bandcamp.com/album/prelud3 and get your copy of his album! Also, go check out his website www.mercymuzic.bandcamp.com and his youtube channel, www.youtube.com/MercyMuzicTV SUPPORT real hip hop and show this guy some love. I wouldn’t ask you to if I didnt feel like he’s earned it.
With a brand new album to promote ‘Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head’ which hit stores yesterday Tip hit up 106 and park for a 30 minute appearance in support of his new album and also spoke on his future business ventures, his family and not leaving until he blessed the stage with some heat. Take a look after the jump!
Hip Hop star 50 Cent stops by The Voice to perform his latest single ‘My Life’ featuring Adam Levine and minus Eminem who also features on the track. The song is ready for download via itunes and see’s 50 go into another direction with the production of the track. Produced by S1 (Symbolyc One) who has worked with the likes of Kanye West and Beyonce put’s 50 Cent in a much better position for radio than he has been in recent years. Take a listen to the track below and watch the performance after the jump taken from his ‘Street King Immortal’ album which will hit stores in 2013
T.I is back with one of the most anticipated tracks from ‘Trouble Man’ – An Andre 3000 feature, Which is always anticipated in Hip Hop. The good new is Tip managed to secure a Andre verse but the only bad news is it’s not as good as his verses on ‘Pink Matter’ by Frank Ocean or even ‘Sixteen’ by Rick Ross but it’s still dope. Get ready for the album release come December 18th, untill then check out ‘Sorry’
Last night saw the Soul Train awards hit the TV screens, Filmed in Las Vegas this year instead of Atlanta where it is usually held, with some great performances from the likes of Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo, Miguel, 2 Chainz and more. Watch the performances after the jump via BET.
G.O.O.D Music crew Common, Cyhi, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor and Pusha T hit up Fuse for a dope mini interview where they talk about the making of ‘Cruel Summer‘. The way Kanye West runs the album recording process banning instagram, tweeting and any such social media in order to get the best from his crew. They mentioned that the writing process can be very competitive even though they are family and mentioned that they have enough left over material for a ‘Cruel Summer‘ Part 2 or a return to G.O.O.D Fridays. Watch the interview after the jump!
