Still seems like yesterday when i got the news that the Greatest Rapper of all time had been shot and killed and throughout those 16 years he has still remained the most Iconic rapper to grace the genre of Hip Hop along side his friend and brief enemy Tupac. Biggie passing was one of the most major blows in Hip Hop in the last 20 years and still hasn’t recovered since with the way the charts are looking now. Rapper’s such as Jay-Z, Nas and Lil’ Kim still holding his legency down as well as mentor Diddy and many of the newer generation but Hip Hop will never be the same. Biggie changed the game he changed the charts he changed how rappers now style their videos, Hypnotize became the blue print for videos in the late 90s early 2000s. His movie of his life became a smash hit back in 2009 denting the box office with viewed sales at $44M proving he still has that impact on the culture of hip hop fans to this day. Biggie the Greatest Rapper of All Time is still and will always be missed. RIP to a legend!!

Over the years Hip Hop has changed with a new sound and new faces. Throughout the last few years we have seen the likes of Big Sean, Drake, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole and many others take the mantle from their successors Like Nas, Jay-Z and Lil’ Kim Who in turn took their learnings from The Notourious B.I.G, Tupac, N.W.A, Rakim, Salt & Pepa, KRS1 and many more from the late 80s to early 90s. Well 2012 has seen a surge in fresh new talent ready to take the hip hop world by storm.

Chip is also a member along side Iggy Azalea on T.I‘s Hustle Gang movement. Azealia Banks a Harlem rapper who is currently signed to Interscope Records and has recently released a brand new EP entitled ‘1991’ causing a stir currently in the game with many twitter beefs and verbal altercations with the likes of T.I and Lil’ Kim many feel Azealia needs to walk before she can run in this game. Two other names causing a huge buzz in hip hop right now is A$ap Rocky and Kendrick Lamar. Rocky who is also from Harlem and recently signed an unprecedented $3M deal with Sony saw his career take off since the release of ‘Purple Swag’ and ‘Goodie’. Lamar on the other hand is from Compton, signed to Aftermath Records and being guided by mentor Dr. Dre Many have also compared Kendrick to some of the old school members of the West such as Tupac.

Lil’ Kim was the guest on The Breakfast Club earlier with Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee. The Interview focused more on Kim’s personal life than her music with many of the questions directed towards her past relationships with B.I.G, Scott Storch and Maino, Her plastic surgery and her infamous beef with Nicki Minaj. The team over at The Breakfast Club asked the questions many have wanted to know but at times the questions came across bias and at points slightly disrespectful. Whats your thoughts did Charlamagne go too far?
Voletta Wallace talks w/ RR About the lost of her Son 15 years ago, She stalks about listening to his entire catalogue of music which was hard for her due to some of the profanity and harsh lyrics but on a whole she labels B.I.G a poet and a great story-teller. She also talks about the time they shared and how much keeping his legacy alive means to her. Check out the interview after the jump!
