Frank Ocean hold his first interview since dropping the dopiness that is ‘Channel Orange’. Frank Ocean talks with UK Radio 1’s Zane Lowe regarding the album, the track list including producers and features. He also talks about his touring to support the album as well as his reasons for releasing the album digitally a week early before physical shipments, which caused Target to ban the album from their stores, read below what Target hard to say about ‘Channel Orange’
“At Target, we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, so our selection of new releases is dedicated to physical CDs rather than titles that are released digitally in advance of the street date.”
This led Frank Ocean‘s Manger to have his own theory on their decision not to carry the album in stores as he tweeted the following:
“Target has refused to carry Frank’s album because of iTunes exclusive, Interesting since they also donate to non-equal rights organizations.”

Frank Ocean let’s go a dope track entitled ‘Sweet Life’ sounds reminiscent of works you’d expect from the likes of Dwele and Musiq SoulChild. Which is great for the fans of NeoSoul and R&B as it confirms the flow of the album which also features ‘Pyramids’. ‘Channel Orange’ is set to drop July 17th so be sure to purchase a copy of an album shaping up to be a classic.
If there was a best Mixtape category at the Grammy awards then ‘Nostalgia/ULTRA’ would have won that hands down. And on that same Mixtape Frank Ocean made it clear his thoughts on sexuality on the song ‘We All Try’ Where he quotes:
I believe Jehovah Jireh
I believe there’s heaven, I believe in war
I believe a woman’s temple
Gives her the right to choose but baby don’t abort
I believe that marriage isn’t
Between a man and woman but between love and love
And I believe you when you say that you’ve lost all faith
But you must believe in something

July 17th 2012 and @Frank_Ocean will finally release his debut album ‘Channel Orange’ But if you ask me this will be his sophomore because ‘Nostalgia/Ultra’ was a true classic piece of art. Frank Ocean was the break out star in 2011 and i honestly feel that he will become a bigger star in 2012 with the release of ‘Channel Orange’ which I’m expecting to do some big numbers making it an Orange Summer for the fans. Check out below the preview video for the album plus also check out his tour dates kicking off on July 13th in Seattle and ending August 1st in Detroit.
